Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP) by NYC Department of Youth & Community Development (DYCD)

SYEP helps NYC youth ages 14–24 with career exploration opportunities and paid work experiences. For BIPOC Black, Indigenous, Hispanic/Latino, and people of color, Immigrant, LGBTQ+ Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and more, Low-income, NYCHA resident, Person with a disability, Public assistance recipient, Woman, Youth in foster care.

Learn & Earn is a year-round program for high school juniors and seniors at risk of dropping out of school. For BIPOC Black, Indigenous, Hispanic/Latino, and people of color, Justice-impacted individual, LGBTQ+ Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and more, Low-income, NYCHA resident, Person with a disability, Public assistance recipient, Youth in foster care.

  • Services Provided Apprenticeships and skills training, Career services, Internships and Fellowships
  • Duration and Length After-school hours with some weekend, evening, and school break activities throughout the year.
  • Support Provided One-year follow up services
