ACCES-VR helps people with disabilities achieve and maintain employment through training, education, rehabilitation, and career development.

ACCES-VR helps people with disabilities age 14 and older get educational or job help. This might include job development, placement, and job coaching.

Who it's for Who it's for

To apply or be referred for ACCES-VR services, you must be:

  • have a disability that interferes with getting, keeping, or advancing in a job, and
  • live in New York State
  • Available to participate in the vocational rehabilitation process
  • at least 14 years old
  • able to work in the U.S.
    • Note: If you’re not a U.S. Citizen, you must provide proof from the U.S. Department of Immigration and Naturalization Services that you’re allowed to work in the United States.

If you provide proof that you get Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI), you are presumed eligible for vocational rehabilitation services.

  • Special transportation accommodation
  • Rehabilitation technology
  • Occupational tools and equipment
  • Medical care for acute conditions arising during the program
  • Modifications to homes, vehicles and worksites
