POP Workers get paid to clean and green NYCs parks, playgrounds, and other facilities.

POP Workers are referred to the program by HRA and are employed by NYC Parks full-time for six months. POP also provides on-the-job training, other training opportunities, and career coaching to find work after the program.

On May 26, 2023 the hourly salary will increase from $15.45 to $16.88 per hour

To take part in POP, you must:

  • Be an NYC resident
  • Receive cash assistance and qualify for referral by HRA

Duration and Length Duration and Length

Throughout the six-month program, POP Workers receive orienting, on-the-job training, career coaching, and specialized training opportunities. Once hired, POP Workers will work a 40-hour workweek, which includes career coaching and training services.
